TipsyiRegretThere is a Pink Triangle on my ForeheadI stumble home alone through Victoria Park.
The Christmas lights I saw with my boyfriend for our first date all those years ago (and every year since)
are now tangled away in the basement of city hall.
But the air still claws my cheeks raw all the same. As I pass behind the café (I still have yet to visit)
a lady sitting on the curb,
huddled under a ratty blanket, shouts “Faggot!” (head down, just walk)
but in my path; a sudden light. A woman decends,
the Progress flag tied around her neck, wearing a crown of flowers, dappled with baby’s breath. (the regal Marsha P. Johnson herself)
“Mama don’t be so cruel! My Dorothy ain’t done nothing to you!”
Words hurled like a brick (glass to Stone)
and the lady disintegrates.
The stars flutter down from the sky to rest on the branches of the trees. (it’s Christmas again!)
