Nathan Calvank is from the small town of Petrolia. He is in Media Information and Technoculture. In the past, his recreational writing has consisted primarily of poetry, but he also enjoys writing dialogue. He is currently revising the first draft of his first novel.
P. Avice Carr is a human tumbleweed. She has rolled through twenty-nine towns in North America, collecting stories along the way. Today she resides in St. Thomas, Ontario and is pulling the stories out of the tumbleweed and writing them down. She enjoys writing short stories, and working on a novel. Her short story “Sister Power” was published in A Cup of Comfort for Sisters as the lead story. She is currently working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Minor in Popular Literature and Cultural Studies and a Minor in Creative Writing. M. Egan is in her fourth year in Media, Information and Technoculture. She recently took Writing Creative Nonfiction and The Naked Writer. In addition to writing, her hobbies include music and visual art. Ariana Ferrone is a fourth year undergraduate student majoring in English Literature and minoring in Creative Writing. She has been a part of Larry Garber's creative writing workshop, 2998E, as well as numerous writing courses such as The Fundamentals of Creative Writing and Short Story Writing. She is currently working on her thesis, a short story collection about magic, mythology, and transformation. Jordyn Fitzgerald is a first year AEO student studying political science at the University of Western Ontario. Jordyn has always had great interest in writing and finds time to write whenever she can, whether it's on her frequent drives from Sudbury to London or when she should be doing her political science readings. In Kathryn Mockler's Writer's Studio class this past semester, Jordyn had the opportunity to expand her writing skills and explore topics she hadn't even considered before: "The Deep End" is what came of it. C. Madrenas is a fourth year Media and the Public Interest student at Western University. Kaitlyn McGrath is currently in her third year pursuing an Honours Specialization degree in English Language and Literature and a certificate in Professional Writing. For the past two years Kaitlyn has worked as an editor at the Gazette, the daily student newspaper at the University of Western Ontario. Last year she worked as a sports editor, and this year she is the opinions editor. Kaitlyn is also a student reader for The Rusty Toque. Emily McWilliams is currently in her second year at Western, pursuing a degree in film studies and writing. This is her first published story; her writing experience at Western includes Professor Claudia Manley’s “The Naked Writer” and she is looking forward to Professor John Smallwood’s “Expository Writing” in the winter 2012 semester. In her spare time, Emily enjoys a cup of green tea accompanied by a good book or movie. Elizabeth Nash is a student at Western University. She has been published on Sparknotes.com, in What If? Magazine and has received awards on the regional and district level from the Sears Drama Festival. Robert Douglas Norsworthy is from Goderich, Ontario. He is a first year student at Western in the faculty of Arts and Humanities who plans to obtain an Honours degree in English with a minor in creative writing. His creative writing experience includes membership in the Writer’s Guild at St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School in Clinton, Ontario, attending the Robert McKee Writing Seminar in New York, and taking 1000F with Professor Elan Paulson. L. N. Ostonal is in his fourth year of a Film Studies degree and a Minor in Creative Writing. He recently screened a short film at the Cannes Short Film Corner and does other things outside, rarely. He writes and likes Kafka. G.P. Parhar is completing the fourth year of his Honours Specialization degree in Philosophy with a Minor in Creative Writing. He writers screenplays, poetry, creative non-fiction, and academic papers. His nonfiction piece "The Frontline: Homeless for a Day" was published in The Rusty Toque. Dan Perdic is enrolled in Media, Information, and Technoculture. His background in cultural theory is commonly expressed in his creative exploits, where he plays with connotation, image, and language in an effort to subvert traditional modes of artistic representation. Noah Southam is a second-year student at Western University. He has been interested in writing his own stories since he was nine years old, and the courses at Western have allowed him to do that. So far, Noah has taken The Writer's Studio, Text, Lies & Digital Media, Short Flicks and Long Story Short. He is a film studies major but would like to do a major in creative writing. Sara Jane Strickland is a fourth year Film Studies and Creative Writing student. |
